Rev. Frederick L. Braddock, Sr., was born in New Albany Mississippi, and grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Braddock received and acknowledged his call to preach at the age of 18 at his home church, St. Luke CME Church of Saginaw, Michigan. After graduating from Saginaw High School he matriculated to Tennessee State University where he received his B. A. in Business Administration. After working in corporate American for 12 years, Rev. Braddock went back to school to attend Vanderbilt University where he completed his work on his Master's of Divinity. Rev. Braddock has pastored extensively throughout the state of Tennessee and Georgia for the past thirty years.
Rev. Braddock has served in several capacities throughout his ministry. He has served as president of the Board of Christian Education for both the 1st and 6th Episcopal Districts. He has served on the Joint Board of Finance and chairman of the Committee on Ministry for the 6th Episcopal District. Rev. Braddock served as the president of the Greater Atlanta Ministerial Alliance for five years. His pastoral experience has included such churches as the St. James CME Church in Laverne, TN, the Williamson Chapel CME Church in Nashville, TN, and the Mt. Pisgah CME Church in Memphis TN, the Holsey Temple and West Mitchell CME Church both of Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Braddock is currently the pastor of the Jacob's Chapel CME Church of Talladega, Alabama and he is also the Presiding Elder of the Anniston District of the Birmingham Region of the 5th Episcopal District of the CME Church. Rev. Frederick L. Braddock, Sr. was appointed Presiding Elder on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
Rev. Braddock is a member of both the NAACP and the SCLC. He is married to the former Sheila Crawford of Nashville, TN. They have three sons, Frederick Jr., Clay Alexander, and Brandon Thomas Braddock. His motto in life is: "I will always strive to bloom where God has planted me."
